SO I have to ask -- Do you know exactly where this house is/was? I took a quick look and couldn't find one that matched exactly, not that it couldn't have been modified in 96 years. Either way, it's a neat look at a style that's all over Marshallton, when it was relatively new.

Scott, You are right. This house does not look like this anymore. All the decorative moldings are gone except for the couple you see on the front porch gable. The front porch was also enclosed at some point. It seems many folks enclosed them. I did some searching at one time and this house, like our house, was built in late 1880's. Our house also has the enclosed front porch. I believe New Street was created when the mill began it's expansion.

Mary C. Rowe was the mother of William S. Rowe. William married Marian Ada Shakespeare. Marian was the daughter of George Washington Shakespeare and Mary Linda Minerva Clark Shakespeare.
